I was super excited as this was my first ever purchase from M.A.C, but I was also worried that I would not like the shade as much as I was hoping to, but I read like a million reviews and was hoping for the best. I didn't even swatch it in the shop, because they didn't have a tester - I'm living on the edge, right?
I wanted to take pretty pictures of the lipstick, and since I got home very late yesterday I had to wait till today. It was really hard to restrain myself, because the shade is just amazing and I couldn't wait to have it on my lips. And then when I finally used it - I fell in love.
I have a brown, slightly smokey eye make-up at the moment and it already makes my blue eyes pop a bit. But when I put this lipstick on my eyes just looked so bright, almost aqua coloured. I have never experienced anything like that - ok, I have blue eyes, but quite grey-ish, definitely not bright. This lipstick is simply magical.
It's a deep pink with a bit of plum (as the name would suggest). If you ever made a plum jam and know the colour of the plum juice (when you sprinkle plums with sugar and wait an hour or so) - that's exactly it, dark pink and fresh and so amazing. It really makes me thing of a plum jam. It's quite a bright colour, but it doesn't look too dark or too bright on my pale skin, I think it will be a great everyday shade but also something to wear for a night out. The formula is equally amazing - smooth, quite opaque, giving your lips a bit of a sheen, but nothing crazy.
And now my alternative. I've had this Maybelline lipstick for a while now, it's part of their Hydra Extreme range in "That's Mauvie". It's definitely not a dupe for Plumful since it's a bit less plummy, a bit lighter and with a hint of dusty pink. But the finish is very similar and it's definitely the same colour range. I actually took That's Mauvie with me to the M.A.C store to make sure it's not too similar to Plumful - it's not, but if you want to try something from that colour range and you don't want to spend 50TL on a lipstick you should definitely try the Maybelline one (for about 7TL).

Pierwsze zakupy w sklepie MAC - wielkie wydarzenie! No i o wiele tańszy, bo w Stambule kosztuje w przeliczeniu około 12zł.
Plumful looks more pink than plum on you .. On me shade looks more plum/ mauvey ! Nice comparison :)
ReplyDeleteI think that's the beauty of this shade - it looks different on everyone, and somehow compliments all skin tones :)))
Kolor idealny!
